Listen, sweet child. 

Perk up your ears.

Because God has a voice. 

If you listen, you’ll hear.

God speaks through his Spirit.

God speaks through his book.

God speaks in a word.

God speaks in a look.

God speaks in his wine.

God speaks in his bread.

God speaks at his table.

God speaks at your bed.

God speaks in the water.

God speaks in the breeze.

God speaks in the clouds.

God speaks in the trees.

God speaks in the light.

God speaks in the rain.

God speaks in laughter.

God speaks in pain.

God speaks in the empty. 

God speaks in the city.

God speaks in what’s ugly.

God speaks in what’s pretty.

God speaks through his angels.

God speaks in your mind.

God speaks in your dreams.

God speaks through wonders and signs.

God speaks in a bark.

God speaks in a hoot.

God speaks in a whisper.

God speaks through the mute.

God speaks in echoes.

God speaks in singing.

God speaks in silence.

God speaks in bells ringing.

God speaks, yes he does.

Sometimes loud and clear.

Sometimes in a voice still and small

So it’s so good to be near.

God speaks to mommy.

God speaks to daddy too.

God speaks to every one of his children.

God speaks to you.
