At the beginning of this year, I said I would write a new worship song each week of 2020. More than halfway through the year and I’m really loving it! I hope you are too.

Some of these recent songs have been taken straight from Scripture. Others have been responses to what’s happening in our world and our nation, especially the new groundswell for racial justice. A few are songs I’ve had in my head for a long time, finally put down on paper.

Some have asked if I have a melody in mind when I write these. Usually I do. The words make sense to me rhythmically, and for many I have a hook or a melody as I’m writing.

But as I noted in the first quarter of the year, my musical skill in terms of translating the lyrics or tune into playable, singable music is lacking. I would be thrilled to collaborate with any interested musicians. Connect with me here or via my social media channels.

Here are the top five most popular songs I wrote in the second quarter of 2020.
